After a career that has spanned more than a decade, earning multiple scoring titles and NBA Championships, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade played his final NBA game last night against the Brooklyn Nets.
He put a up a triple double, and with friends Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and LeBron James courtside, closed out his career with a bang. While the on-the court accolades have been plentiful, Wade is now beginning to be honored as a community leader who has used his platform to impact communities in his hometown of Chicago, in Miami where he spent the majority of his playing years, and across the country.
To acknowledge this, Budweiser developed a video spot in which people that Wade has impacted throughout his career through his generosity and support.
The touching video has left many people emotional, and considering their own legacies.
As for what is coming next for Wade, he’s shared that he’s taking it a day at a time. Whatever it may be, it’s sure to include community engagement and development.
